At Deep we know how important it is to most people to look and feel good.

One of the best ways to achieve this is through regular Detox.

Many experts believe that a good internal clear out once a year can help avoid illnesses such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Also whilst having a good clear out of your body it is a good time to implement the good eating and exercise habits that will help prevent the build up of excessive toxins.

The ideal way to detox your body is to start with a 24 hour fast (if you feel upto it and are medically sound, if you are unsure seek advice from your doctor). You are best to choose a day when you aren't going to be very active and you will need to have access to be able to drink a lot of fluid. Dehydration mustn't be allowed. You need to drink lots of water or hot water with fresh lemon slices in. To help inner cleansing a good health tip is to start and end the day with a drink of hot water and fresh lemon, this is also a good habit to continue into your daily routine as it cleanses the liver and kidneys as well as your digestive system.

After the initial 24 hour fast the key is to eat as much raw food as you can for the rest of the week. Raw Fruit and Vegetables are the easiest form of food for the body to digest and you also get the most nutrition from them. Raw Fruit and Vegetables also have an excellent cleansing effect on the body. Uncooked food strengthens the immune system and enhances the metabolism. The high fibre in fruits and vegetables is perfect for flushing toxic residues out of the body. Ideally if you can use Organic Fruit and Vegetables as these have fewer toxins, a local greengrocer will usually have everything you need. Remember when cooking your vegetables that we tend to boil the goodness out, so if possible try and steam or stir fry the vegetables instead for a few minutes until they are tender. You need to aim to eat a different variety of fruit, vegetables and salad every day.

Exercise is very important when detoxing, it doesn't have to be strenuous, but if you could manage a 15 minute walk each day it all helps towards getting the results you want.

Drink plenty of fluids, you need to aim to drink at least 2 litres of water a day, your hot water with lemon can count towards this, try and drink herbal teas rather then normal tea or coffee as these toxins we are trying to flush away.

The best Fruits to eat are; Apricots, Any Berry, Melons, Citrus Fruit, Kiwi Fruit, Papaya, Peach, Mango.

The best Vegetables to eat are; Artichokes, Peppers, Beetroot, Brussel Sprouts, Broccoli, Red Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Cucumber, Pumpkin, Spinach, Tomatoes, Sweet Potato, Watercress.

You can eat Brown Rice no more than twice a day, Fish no more than once a day.

When cooking try and use Extra Virgin Olive Oil rather than Butter,

Make sure that you take a daily dose of multivitamins and vitamin C.

Try to avoid all wheat products, meat and dairy, eggs, salt, spices, dried fruit, bananas and potatoes.

You may find that for a couple of days you feel worse, but if you follow the detox as above you will see an improvement in your health with some of your symptoms disappearing altogether. As the old saying goes "no pain no gain".

Once you have achieved the initial detox plan, it is time to come and pamper yourselves to a detoxing treatment as a little reward for all the hardwork you have put in.
